The customers and the actual users are usually the ones who give accurate feedback about the good and bad points in an application or software. Wise Buyer, creator of software buying guides, has interviewed over 5,000 real-life users of softwares like landing page builders, portfolio builders, form builders, email marketing, live chat, and ecommerce, and has compiled guides on these software categories.
To score consumer satisfaction, Steve Benjamins, the creator of Wise Buyer, asked these real-life users if they would recommend the software or not. He also analyzed how the various softwares in a particular category stack up against each another, and which software is the best or worst.
The survey revealed that the average satisfaction across the six types of software was about 85%, with live chat software providing the highest satisfaction of 90%, followed by 88% satisfaction in email marketing software, 88% in form builders, 83% in portfolio builders, 82% in landing page builders, and 79% in ecommerce software.
This software helps to provide real-time customer service communications. This category of software enjoyed the highest customer satisfaction across the six groups evaluated. Four of the 23 live chat software products enjoyed the highest customer satisfaction of 98%. These were Intercom, Tawk.to, MyLiveChat, and My Chat. ChatNox and LivePerson had the lowest satisfaction levels at 79%.
This software is usually used for creating mailing lists. Of the 19 products in this category, MailerLite enjoyed the highest customer satisfaction of 89%, while customers expressed only 76% satisfaction with Campaigner. MailChimp, which is the current industry favorite, came fifth with 93% satisfaction.
Form builder software helps to create online forms for a specific purpose like lead generation and payments. Of the eight form builders assessed, Cognito Forms enjoys the highest customer satisfaction of 95%, while FormStack comparatively enjoyed the least customer satisfaction of 82%.
Portfolio builder software is usually employed by photographers, artists, visual designers, and models to create online portfolios about their work. Of the 13 software products in this category, the users of Format expressed the highest satisfaction of 95%, while Viewbook enjoyed only 69% customer satisfaction.
Landing page builders
Customers expressed an average satisfaction of 82% in landing page builders, which help to build the main web page or the entry point for a website. According to Steve, of the nine landing page builders, Thrive Landing Pages enjoys the highest customer satisfaction of 93%, while the Wishpond enjoys only 65% satisfaction.
In the ecommerce software category, where the software helps to create online shopping sites and enables transactions, Shopify, the industry favorite, enjoyed a 98% satisfaction level.
The findings reveal that softwares that enable direct communication like live chat and email marketing software perform better when compared to softwares that help provide back-end services, like ecommerce software.
