In Dishonored 2, you can play as Emily Kaldwin, who has new supernatural powers or get the more “nostalgic” Dishonored experience with Corvo. However, there’s a third option that director Harvey Smith revealed on GameSpot’s live E3 stage show, and players who want an extra challenge might want to take it.
Smith revealed that when Emily meets The Outsider, the mysterious man who granted Corvo his supernatural abilities in the first Dishonored, she can actually turn his offer down and play through the entire game without powers like Blink, a teleport move, or Domino, the chain-reaction ability.
The Dishonored director dubs this style of play, “Flesh and Steel.” He reminded us of an achievement in the original Dishonored called “Mostly Flesh and Steel,” which challenged players to finish the game without purchasing any supernatural abilities, except for Blink.
Dishonored 2’s first gameplay was revealed during Bethesda’s E3 press conference. It was the first time we saw Corvo or heard his new voice, and you can check it out for yourself in the video at the top of this article.
